Here's what Bowie, one of our Rat Terrier girls
has to say about dog collars, dog leashes and harnesses!
Would you like to take me out for a little walk
around the block? You may be surprised to know that even though I have been through extensive obedience training
I'm a rat terrier and I do have a mind and will of my own. I am going to stop every chance I get to smell the flowers
and if we happen to come across a squirrel or bird I'm going to try to give chase. Every dog breed and even individual
dog is different - unique and the type of collar, leash or harness you select will determine how much control you
will have over your dog, how far your dog will be able to wonder away from you, how comfortable your dog will be
while you are "at the controls" and how well your dog will respond. For this very reason, so you should
be careful when selecting a dog collar, harness or leash for for your dog. If you have more than one dog then you
may want to pick a coupler or dog leash to let you handle 2 or more dogs. This will make our walking in the park
experience a lot more pleasurable. Mom uses a double-yoke leash coupler when walking both of us around the block
- this works very well for mom and us.
